WHY I SHARE

Sometimes I write something and wonder what people will think—not for approval, but because words land differently for everyone. For me, sharing isn’t oversharing; it’s naming what’s real, because once I put words to something, it loses its power to drag me under. This is a reminder that you don’t have to tell everything to everybody—but you do need at least one place where you stop pretending and tell the truth.

Sometimes I’ll write something and then wonder what people will think. Not because I’m fishing for approval—but because I know words land differently for different people. It’s like art. You can stand in front of the same painting as the person next to you, and you’ll both see something completely different. Writing is the same way.

For me, sharing isn’t about oversharing or putting everything out there—it’s about naming what’s real. These aren’t the things I feel I need to hide. They’re the things I believe more of us should be talking about. Because when I put words to something, it loses its power to drag me under. I feel lighter. Clearer. More aligned with who I really am and what I value.

I don’t think we’re meant to hide everything we feel. It’s the stuff we bury—the things we numb, the things we pretend aren’t there—that steal life from us.

I’m not here for surface-level conversations. I’m just not interested. I believe there’s freedom, growth, resiliency, and empowerment in the very things people don’t often talk about. That’s where the connection is. That’s where the healing is.

And no, I’m not saying you should share everything with everybody—I certainly don’t. But I do think we each need at least one place —or one person —where we stop pretending and start telling the truth.

So here’s my challenge:

Ask yourself—what’s one thing I’ve been keeping hidden that I could name out loud? Not to the world. Not even online. Maybe just to yourself. Or maybe to one trusted person.

Because the moment you stop burying it, you take back your power.
